Iamamiwhoami – 'Kin' album review
Rating: 4/5By Kim Taylor BennettThe whispers started two years ago after a series of cryptic and creepy music videos emerged online. One featured a woman playing piano wrapped in cellophane, her identity mooted as either Fever Ray or Björk. It was, in fact, Stockholm’s Jonna Lee.
‘Kin’ is her audio-visual project – each glacial electro-pop track is matched by an equally unsettling video. Crucially, though, these elegant songs stand up even when stripped of their filmic storylines. In either form, they’re really quite magical.
