Kenny Wheeler

Iconic Brit jazz trumpeter Wheeler is now in his 80s, but he still sounds wonderful: his pristine tone retains that special melancholic glow, and his solo flights are fleet-fingered and engaging. It's always been his capabilities as a composer, however, that have made him a huge influence on his contemporaries and the current generation of young players. Tonight he’s joined by a fine band, featuring sax star Stan Sulzmann, guitarist John Parricelli, bassist Chris Laurence and drummer Martin France.
