An old-timey four-piece from Michigan via LA, Lord Huron incorporate echoes of the American West (Morricone-style whistles, plaintive vocals in the vein of John Jacob Niles, Appalachian folk) into their harmonic folk-pop. Then it’s all drowned in enormous reverb suggesting the vast, empty prairie. In the continued absence of Fleet Foxes, this’ll do nicely.
