The worst experience of my life. Don't waste 25 quid on this trash, you'd do better to give it to a tramp. Take your ear plugs cos my ear drums nearly burst twice. I love Zidane but I was so angry after this experience and nearly having my eardrums burst twice with the noise Mogwai play, absolute rubbish. Some people left, the one's that stayed were so embarrassed they spent money on it they just sat there with their eardrums bleeding. It's worth no stars by the way.

When football and music collide, the results can be horrible: remember John Barnes's rap on New Order's 'World in Motion'? Not so, however, with Mogwai's soundtrack for Douglas Gordon and Philippe Pareno's acclaimed football film. Using 17 cameras, the filmmakers followed French football star Zinedine Zidane around the pitch, up close, for all 91 minutes of a game at Madrid's enormous Bernabeu stadium. The Scottish group's soundtrack tends towards downbeat post-rock, and while it's not their best work on its own, its immersive, circling melodies go down a treat alongside the film's intense depiction of its isolated subject. They'll be scoring the film live tonight for the third time ever, after two performances at the Manchester International Festival.
