Ooh La La, an international festival of contemporary French music, holds its first London series. Fauve, a Parisian five-piece who also hold down office jobs, headline the first night with their political post-rock. Their instrumental textures and spoken-word state-of-the-nation invective have made them a break-out phenomenon in French youth culture this year. In support, Petit Fantôme (Pierre Loustaunau of François And The Atlas Mountains) plays offbeat, textural electronic pop and Moodoïd (also the guitarist for Melody's Echo Chamber) performs brilliantly trippy, immersive songs which mix up psychedelic pop, folk, prog rock and world music.
