This song is often wrongly attributed to Neil Young. It’s actually by America; less well known, less important acoustic musicians of the 70s. A.Human’s cover (and debut single), though, is entirely their own, right down to Dave Human’s voice which comes across with startling honesty for a dance-punk band. The translocation from gentle strumming to K’ed up disco insouciance is slickly but passionately pulled-off and its surreal wordage makes as much sense in the wonky reality of a Hoxton basement as it would on a smacked-out desert trip.
