  • Whatever label you might try to hang on Supersilent – Nordron(e)ica, maybe? Scandiglitch? – it will be both ugly and inadequate. Better, then, to just say that this Norwegian quartet skates across the territories of drone-rock, ambient electronica, psych-prog, post-rock and free jazz without once falling on their stylistic arse. ‘8’ is their first studio LP in five years and a testament to their awesome lightness of touch, both literal and conceptual. If Murcof, Ligeti or Coil float your boat, then it’s time to try a trip with the ’silent ones.
