You can’t get much cooler than an apocalypse-obsessed electro-rock outfit from Brooklyn right now. You could, however, get a bit more interesting. BOE have got the right mix of basement dirt, pop hooks and lyrical langour to make this album work, but you can’t help wishing they’d stretch their wings and just be a little less in-fashion sometimes.
