  • With less range than a battery-powered Hummer, Kate Jackson’s voice shares the wooden spoon award for disservices to indie with her band’s clunky way with an instrument, a disability that sees them foundering in their attempt to follow in the lofty footsteps of Blondie, Pulp and, um, John Foxx (‘Century’). Erol Alkan has tried to hide much, scrawling his signature electro everywhere, but this is badly realised and forced just like their debut.
