Formed in ’89 as a heavy metal band, in the mid ’90s this Bavarian quartet took to flirting with electronics and sounding not unlike a tougher, less folky and, well, more German Tuung. Six years after the acclaimed ‘Neon Golden’, their latest is both dreamy and dense, its tender tunes and sweetly fatalistic poetry caught up in a thicket of strummed guitars and restless nocturnal electronica. Markus Acher’s wise, wistful and woozy vocals will cut you a steady path.
