Christian Hardy, the man behind this rather pointlessly re-monikered London quartet, is either a fascinatingly untethered young talent or a second-wave Mika. On the grounds that he opts for singing about serious things like war veterans and maggots over fat women and film stars, we’re overlooking the expensively feathered hair and taking a punt on the former. Grizzly glam rock meets Sufjan Stevens-style banjo work meets tune-era Radiohead? This is one hell of a bewildering debut.

I meant former obviously (untethered young talent) - and I happen to have heard most of his next album, and IT IS INCREDIBLE, and much more focused than Onward!
He is most definitely the latter - time will bear this fact out.
