AT are bassist Malcom Creese, saxophonist Tim Garland and pianist Gwilym Simcock. They perform ECM-ish chamber jazz in sacred spaces and this live CD captures them in at Romsey and Dorchester abbeys in all their un-amplified glory. Crucially, they’re not afraid to swing; Garland and Simcock provide some superb tunes, the latter’s gripping ‘Ritual’ a highlight alongside an Ellingtonian take on Stan Tracey’s immortal ‘Under Milk Wood’. Top notch.
