Taking their lead from US college staples like They Might Be
Giants and, particularly, Pavement, these six pals from Delaware have
been making music since they were kids. Now, as they leave their
teenage years behind, they release their debut album proper. ‘NAND’
is a preppy, peppy treat, full of bright-eyed melodies, stomping
tunes and off-kilter twists and turns (Beach Boys breakdowns! Kazoo
solos! Whistling!). All of which makes for an album of good ol’ US
indie-slacker pop at its scratchy, joyful best.
