The populist dodecatet play punk-folk in the Mano Negra tradition, smashing speed-metal guitars and tribal drums against ska horns and Russian prison chansons, with vocals resembling Lemmy singing ‘Orgasmatron’ on the toilet. Leningrad also adopt folk’s tradition of ground-level storytelling. So profane is the polemic, Leningrad are banned from playing Moscow. Reading the translated lyrics, it’s not hard to see why.
