Tired of the ‘pantomime electro’ tag, vulgar Canadian diva Merrill Nisker has gotten a taste for rawk, inspired by Joan Jett (who guests on the ‘Cherry Bomb’-like ‘You Love It’) and Pat Benatar. Josh Homme, Eagles Of Death Metal pal Samantha Maloney and the Gossip’s Beth Ditto help to crank up a stomping, stadium-sized mix that sits well with experimental electro nods towards Spank Rock’s minimalism, a sexed-up Annie (‘Downtown’) and a less luminous Le Tigre.
