  • Sassy girl trio The Pipettes share more than a label with The Go! Team. They also trade in a vaguely similar uplifting clatter, opting for a Shangri Las-inspired power-pop of tooth-rotting sweetness over hip hop and northern soul. Assisted by backing boys The Cassettes, 14 quickfire songs span finger-popping doo-wop, sultry R&B and bubblegum pop. It gets a little derivative, but such is the pace and throwaway quality that you won’t have the time, nor the inclination, to worry.

    can't can't can't stand their sound! how anyone can call this tripe pop music is beyond me! give me the shangri-las any day!
