An identity crisis does few bands many favours, but this Glaswegian trio turn a refusal to fix on one thing to their advantage. Using glacial, epic pop melodies as their base, they add dark electro detail, twitchy glitch, looped strings and beats that range from thunderously tribal to head-nodding hip hop. Sometimes, they opt for the obvious and bland out (‘Taste For Harmony’ and ‘You Better Keep Me’ are Coldplay and Radiohead lite respectively), but Hope Of The States fans will fall hard for UOK.
