  • Inspirational London promotions collective Upset The Rhythm put on low-cost gigs by underground artists and run a fledgling label of the same name. San Fran trio Yikes are the latest addition to their rowdy fold. Led by John Dwyer (ex Coachwhips and OCS), they’ve delivered a short (23 minutes), sharp blast of lo-fi, heroically distorted, near chaotic noise, in which fuzzed guitars freak out and roiling drums mark a lurching beat. Fans of The Jesus Lizard and The Fall should feel at home here.
