  • This ghostly duo offer a very Norwegian counterpoint to Nouvelle Vague’s jaunty electro-bossa covers, performing sad, slow and gripping versions of songs from the likes of Bob Dylan, Sandy Denny and Joy Division. Susanna Wallumrød’s heartfelt, deadpan vocals are backed by Morten Qvenlid (harpsichord, organ, piano, vibes etc), together finding an icy beauty and hidden strangeness in the familiar.

Their first album blew me away, and just gets better every listen. I actually preferred their originals to the covers (including Jolene, the most haunting version ever...), so I hope this one lives up to the early promise. A wonderful band. Don't be put off by the low key nature, wallow in it, and the beauty comes seeping through.
