Grunge eye-candy turned drug-addled waster Evan Dando is back, and he’s rockin’ like it’s 1992. This is the first Lemonheads album for ten years and the presence of two former Descendents and Dinosaur Jr’s J Mascis suggests a man eager to get back to basics. Sure enough, much of this album sees Dando straining to replicate the sunny, slacker melodicism of ‘It’s A Shame About Ray’. And, in fairness, for the most part, just about pulling it off. Several years too late, but better late than never.
