Magazines these days are full of fawning reviews of everything that DFA have done, and here’s another one. This second round-up of remixes from the Midas-like production duo showcases James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy’s off-beam approach to musical demarcation lines, blurring techno, electro, funk and punk for the likes of Goldfrapp, Tiga and Nine Inch Nails. There’s trouble in paradise, however – at a mere eight tracks in length, the package feels a bit rushed, and not everything is up to the divine standard of, say, their languorous reworking of ‘Slide In’. Still, it’s better than Beatfreakz could do.
