Art-rockers The Blood Arm come on like a honky-tonk Killers, or an Americanised Franz Ferdinand, but with a looser feel. This probably comes from the fact that they have a keyboard player instead of a bassist – the rock equivalent of a flexible floating midfielder. Happily, The Blood Arm share a similar arch sense of humour with their Scots counterparts (and former tourmates), but as an all-out unashamed rock band they’re less hampered by a necessity to be seen to be clever. Great stuff.
