  • This leftfield hip hop sextet – featuring Anticon alumni Jel and Doseone – might hail from San Francisco, but it’s unlikely that they’ve ever been invited to play one of those Bay Area ‘hyphy parties’. This mesmerising long-player is an acid rain-spoilt landscape of hip hop, doom-metal, TV On The Radio-like indie-soul, operatic glitch and lyrical streams of consciousness, sometimes in the same song; sometimes all at once. If that’s too much like backpack hip hop for you, the excellent ‘Bed To The Bills’ offers Gnarls Barkley-styled funky fare.
