  • This Stereolab-affiliated project shares some of the ’Lab’s psychedelic space-pop preoccupations but adds a Soft Machine-inspired take on prog jazz along with a helping of spooky medieval folk, courtesy of vocalist Mary Hampton. Tracks like ‘For The Best’ and ‘Leave Her Johnny’ oscillate between Robert Wyatt’s 1973 , Joe Meek’s 1961 and the 1382 of some pox-ridden English troubadour. Bewildering, but very good.
