Taking on Europe’s dominant electro labels is London indie Tirk – who gave us New Young Pony Club’s debut seven-inch last yea, before they jumped ship to the equally groovy Modular. This, their first label compilation, celebrates two and a half years of releasing wonderfully filthy, squelchy music. Highlights range from Louie Austen’s croonsome club banger ‘Grab My Shaft’, Sugardaddy’s Morse Code electro, angular New Young Pony Club track ‘Tight Fit’ and the deep Kraut-funk of Fujiya & Miyagi, a duo that we’ll be hearing much more of in the coming months.
