Hey! Average Joe! Did you know that working for a living and leading a blameless life is actually, like, a real drag? Well, if you didn’t, surely being told how worthless your perfectly normal existence is by some sax-honking, yelpy indie band will soften the blow. This latest single from the perennial indie almost-bes is a decent bit of minimal post-punk with a free-jazz dressing. It’s just a shame their hackneyed, bullshit and – oh irony of ironies – tedious lyrical conceit lets them down.
