Like some kind of prog Frankenstein, Wolfmother have sewn together the riff from AC/DC’s ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top’, the synth from The Who’s ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ and Ozzy Osbourne’s Sabbath-era howl. Ordinarily this would make some sort of hateful Dalston irony golem, but Wolfmother’s creation is a far more agreeable beast, mostly thanks to an expert sincerity transplant.
