  • It was ‘Rocky V’ which posited the question – ‘What does a champion do when he hangs up his gloves?’. On the evidence of this comeback album from the supposedly-retired Donald Trump of rap, the answer is: ‘Wait ten minutes then make a disappointing return as a vastly diminished force’. The production sounds predictably expensive (which, with Dre and Pharrell involved, it probably was), but Jay’s flow sounds tired, and his metaphors are downright exhausted. Buy Ghostface Killah’s ‘Fishscale’ instead.
