This Atlanta hip hop collective seemed refreshingly rural and bucolic 15 years ago, but have long become a footnote in rap history, with this comeback LP destined to be ignored by all but a few die-hard fans in Japan. They still do smart pop hooks (including a nod to ‘Hey Ya’) and know a good sample (’70s soul and Latin, easy listening), but frontman Speech’s pious liberal lecturing can be almost as tiresome as the gangsta clichés he condemns.
