The word on the street is that Plus Device is actually the nomme de guerre of two already-famous Detroit techno stars. Anyway, don’t worry about that, because it’s the least interesting thing about this album, which uses defiantly ancient synth sounds (like Gloria Estefan would have used), and loads of hi-hat to awesomely sleazy effect. Though the general themes (cheap synths, sleaze) are consistent throughout the album, the tracks themselves cycle through old school electro, minimal techno and booty-tech. Great stuff if you’re into bleeps.
