Will Schwartz will doubtless be familiar to about three of you as one-third of leftfield pop pranksters Imperial Teen. For this album, he’s joined up with San Fran electro boffin Tomo to produce a uniquely lo-fi (and happily irony-free) take on minimalist Timberlake-style R&B. It’s unlikely to conquer the charts in the same way as its source matter – the lyrics are possibly too gay even for the Mika market – but that doesn’t mean it’s not achingly catchy.
