We’re now all as au fait with jittery punk-funk and its heavily percussive, echo-laden punch as we are with the backs of our own hands, but for their third LP, Nic Offer’s disco-punk seditionaries have wisely shifted their attention from the obvious (Talking Heads, Liquid Liquid, ESG et al). Alongside their dearly beloved house and ’80s electro, the octet dip into psychedelic pop, ’70s funk, micro house, death disco and booty bass, deploying ambitious arrangements and oddball production tics to brilliantly unsettling effect.
