Finally a band, in this age of overly-liberal punctuation (see: You Say Party! We Say Die!, Hadouken!, etc), who actually warrant an exclamation mark at the end of their name. Coming across like My Bloody Valentine or ‘Exterminator’-era Primal Scream played by Fugazi, here this Newcastle quartet have done a fine job of capturing the ferocious intensity of their live shows; the likes of single ‘Nightjoy’ and the superlative, Mogwai-esque soundscapes of ‘Start As We Meant To’ infused with both melody and noise in equal measure. A fine, fine debut.
