It feels like forever since ‘Fantasma’ – the international debut by Keigo Oyamada (aka Cornelius) – marked him out as a post-everything, electronic pop mentalist. Album number five offers more insights into the crazy-paved imagination of ‘the Japanese Beck’, but sees him exploring atmospherics more keenly than before, while seriously testing the elasticity of song structure. The exquisite ‘Wataridori’ deserves special mention, but dizzying, shouldn’t-work-do-work delights abound.
