You have to go a long way to make something ineligible for the charts these days, but festival-friendly neo-shoegazers Fields have managed it with this ‘digital vinyl’ trailer for their much-anticipated debut album. It’s somewhat Blairite, in that it sounds like an exciting innovation, but isn’t particularly. The B-side of the single is etched with a special code which allows you, the consumer, to have your choice of bonus tracks from the band’s website. Although the alternative track, ‘When You Sleep’ is very pretty, it doesn’t have the same crossover potential.
