Released on the same day as his former protégé’s latest, and featuring an olive branch of a track entitled ‘Letter 2 Dizzee’ (‘Ready to drop my album/When’s your album droppin?’ he spits, in supposedly oblivious fashion), it’s going to be hard for Wiley latest to escape the shadows of this week’s other grime release. A shame, because here the likes of ‘Getalong Gang’ (‘I’m the reason grime’s a name brand,’ he states, correctly) and ‘Flyboy’ push the genre Wiley pioneered into new and exciting territories. In short, this is not an album that needs to be buoyed by any celebrity associations.
