  • Fridge have always been better at hitting a groove and working up finely detailed atmospherics than writing songs and their latest LP (it’s six years since ‘Happiness’) is no different. In fact, there are few surprises  on ‘The Sun’, which mixes pieces written last summer with older material.

Still, if Kieran Hebden and co are capable of creating such joyous, pastoral house masterpieces as ‘Insects’ – which suggests Espers remixed by Hot Chip and given a boot up the Balearics – who could complain?
