Norwegian Torske hails from the northern town of Tromsø – home to post-techno soundscaper Biosphere – but is now based in groovy Bergen, where Röyksopp (whose ‘Eple’ single he remixed) and Toy are also based. Given the inevitable closeness of such a small community, Torske’s post-house electronica/micro-glitch thus ranges from amniotic ambience to Kraftwerkian funk, minimalist pop and playful tinkerings. ‘Spelunker’ – Studio One-styled dub as played on a GameBoy – is a splendid example of the latter.
