Psych/free folkie James Jackson Toth has recorded under several different guises, but WW is his best known. For his final LP under that name, he’s chosen to go out not with a bang or a whimper, but an uncharacteristically simple bow. These elegant, straightforward songs feature piano and organ, but highlight Toth’s bone-dry voice and evocative lyrics. Vocalist Jessica Toth keeps the creative circle close, as do guests Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley (the label is Thurston Moore’s). Attention, fans of Dylan and Merle Haggard.
