The fourth album of his post-Mouldy Peaches career sees a slight change of tack for Green, who’s been much-championed by fellow New Yorkers like Julian Casablancas. This time there are Motown and swing influences alongside his ever-present quirky lyrics and Lou Reed-ish drawl, expanding upon the languid sound of previous LPs ‘Friends Of Mine’ and ‘Gemstones’. It’s not overtly experimental but ‘Jacket Full Of Danger’ holds a grandeur that’s never fully surfaced in his prior solo releases.
