Fronted by self-aggrandising mouth-by-numbers chap Jason Bavanandan, Battle are one of those indie bands who harp on a lot about ‘honesty’ and ‘soul’. They’ve got the big, proclamatory song titles like ‘The Time For Talking Is Almost Over’, yet see fit to make an astonishingly average guitar-plus-synth-strings non-racket destined to be described – for the few remaining weeks that anyone whatsoever cares at all about it, anyway – as ‘epic’. ‘It’s such a pointless life!’ goes the epic ‘Demons’. No shit, Sherlock.
