  • A revelation for those who imagine Mr Moore simply shreds guitars on the Sonic Youth frontline. His first solo LP proper since 1995 proves that he’s also a talented songsmith in the Neil Young vein, had Young been raised on the downtown NYC art scene. Here are tunes of tender, violin-decked beauty alongside the grunge, slacker pop and noise, with guests including J Mascis and Steve Shelley. ‘Trees…’, however, is very much Thurston’s baby and an exciting display of his ‘other’ side.
