  • Side-stepping the austerity which often haunts minimal house, Iranian-Swiss producer Samim’s debut album combines intricate beatscapes and subtly shifting textures with an refreshing sense of playfulness. ‘Heater’, with its savagely molested accordian sample is the standout but the congos and crescendos of ‘Forced Feedback’ aren’t far behind. Finally, check R&B spoof ‘The Lick’ for quite possibly the first recorded example of minimal house humour.
