Another avant acid-folk adventure from former Comet-On-Fire Ben Chasny, although initially this feels like a less expansive trip than most of his previous albums. These things are relative, however. While the likes of ‘Jade Like Wine’ showcase more conventional tunings and song structures than we’ve come to expect, the parched, poignant beauty of Chasny’s guitar playing is still very much in evidence.
