Slaves

Thrashy fun with the tasteless punk duo from Kent

Nominated for last year’s Mercury Prize, there’s a lot to be said for these snotty Brit-punks, mainly because their Henry Rollins lookalike frontman plays thrashy stand-up drums while singing (well, mostly shouting and pulling faces). There’s another guy who plays chuggy lo-fi guitar – and that’s it. They’re a bit samey on record, and that name sure is problematic, but Slaves are a barrel of fun live.
