Throughout the ’70s, the American label Strata-East Records out out a huge number of phenomenal records that mined the obscure but rich seams of spiritual jazz, post-bop and afro-jazz. At this ace-looking celebration, label founders Charles Tolliver and Stanley Cowell plus musical guests Cecil McBee, Billy Harper, Alvin Queen and Jean Carne will bring the sound of Strata-East to life in what should be grand style.
