Vancouver alt.folk trio TBGT are no porch-bound dreamers – they met through their fellow love of roaming, picking up sepia sounds from old-time jazz to bluegrass and playing their guitar, banjo and mandolin along the way. Expect a best-of set spanning their 13-year career following the release of 2012's retrospective collection, and the same warm, sweet sound whether they're playing originals or buffing up Stephen Foster's old chestnut 'Oh Susanna'. Folk singer Portman, meanwhile, is fascinated by the dark feminine places at the heart of fairytales, and though her shy, school girlish delivery won't suit all tastes, new album 'Hatchling' creates its own potent, eerie and highly imaginative lyrical world.
