New York college-rock hipsters Vampire Weekend started out as an awkward rap duo, but fortunately discovered that a mixture of indie rock angularity and buoyant Afro-pop suited them better – so well, in fact, that they their last two albums have bothed topped the US chart. Their third album, 'Modern Vampires of the City', adds an exciting dose of classic rock ’n’ roll and some experimental recording techniques to the formula, and should feature heavily in tonight's set.
