Prohibition Party

It's all back to the 1920s for this dapper, Prohibition era-themed party, boasting jazz bands, DJs playing vintage tunes on gramaphones, bootlegged booze, Charleston dancers, gambling tables, silent movie screenings and a piano bar. It all takes place in the wonderfully grand setting of Bloomsbury Ballroom, so dress fabulously (think flapper dresses, feathered headbands, tuxedos, top hats and spats).

It was pretty disappointing I have to say, and my friends felt the same. Seemed like the attitude of the organizers was - we'll let people come all dressed up and glam and that will be enough to make it a fun night. There was a live band at the beginning, which was nice but not something that would make you dance all night. For me personally the music didn't let me forget about all the rubbish and broken glasses on the floor and enjoy myself. So all I remember is trying to clean the floor under my feet. It was also super dark in the room, with no light effects really, which didn't help creating a festive atmosphere. When the band was gone, the DJ was not much better and the acoustics was terrible.. Cheap attitude all in all...
