Peckam boys The Metros may currently be awaiting the results of their A-levels, but you’d imagine they’re not too worried. After all, they’ve already inked a deal with the none-more-cool 1965 Records, and have been described by label manager James Endeacott – the man who introduced the world to The Strokes, The Libertines and The View – as ‘the most exciting band I’ve ever worked with, bar none.’ And when you hear the noise they make, a glorious drunk-funk racket that draws from the clever-pop nuggets of Ian Dury & The Blockheads and Squeeze, you’ll find it hard to disagree with him. If you’re quick, you might just be able to get your hands on a copy of their super-limited ‘Education Pt 2’ single, otherwise get to their MySpace page right now.
